How to view your site analytics

Artefact includes a built-in analytics dashboard so you can see how many people are visiting your site, where they're coming from, and which pages they spend time on — without installing any third-party tools.

Analytics dashboard requires Core plan or higher.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open your site dashboard

Log in at artefact.bz/login and select your site. You'll land on the site overview page.

  2. 2

Click 'Analytics' in the left sidebar

The analytics section shows your traffic data. By default, it shows the last 30 days.

  3. 3

    Read the overview metrics

The top row shows your key numbers: total visitors (unique people), total page views (all pages viewed), average session duration, and bounce rate (percentage of visitors who view only one page).

  4. 4

    Check traffic sources

The 'Sources' section shows where your visitors are coming from: direct (typed your URL), organic search (found you on Google), social, or referral (another site linked to you). This tells you what's working.

  5. 5

    See your top pages

The 'Top pages' section shows which pages on your site get the most views. If you have a multi-page site, this tells you what content your visitors value most.

  6. 6

    Adjust the date range

Use the date picker at the top right to view a different time period — last 7 days, last 30 days, last 3 months, or a custom range.

Tips & best practices

  • A high bounce rate on a contact or booking page is normal — visitors who find your number and call you immediately count as a bounce, but that's a good outcome.
  • If most of your traffic is 'direct', try sharing your site link on Google Business Profile, social media, and local directories to grow organic traffic.
  • Low session duration (under 30 seconds) combined with high bounce rate often means visitors didn't find what they expected — review your homepage headline and main CTA.

Common questions

Does Artefact analytics use cookies?

+

Artefact analytics uses privacy-first tracking that doesn't require cookies or personal data. No cookie banner is needed. Visitor counts are based on anonymised session data.

Can I connect Google Analytics instead?

+

Yes. Go to Settings → Integrations to add your Google Analytics ID or Google Tag Manager container. Artefact analytics and Google Analytics can run side-by-side.

Why do my visitor numbers look different in Google Analytics vs Artefact?

+

Different analytics tools count visitors differently. Artefact analytics filters out bots more aggressively, which often produces lower but more accurate numbers. Both are valid — use one as your primary reference.
