Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, including your email address. We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interactions with the website builder. When you create a website, we store the site content you provide or that our AI generates on your behalf. We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the Service, including hosting and serving your published websites. We also use it to improve our AI models and the overall quality of generated content, to communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests, and to monitor for abuse and enforce our Terms of Service. We will never sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Artefact account.

4. Third-Party Services

Artefact integrates with a small number of third-party services to deliver the best experience. We use Pexels to source royalty-free images for your websites, Google Fonts to provide typography options, and third-party AI providers to power our website generation features. These services may receive limited data as necessary to perform their functions (for example, AI providers receive your prompts to generate content). We choose partners who maintain strong privacy and security practices.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Specifically, we use authentication tokens to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies. Your browser may allow you to disable cookies, but doing so may prevent you from signing in to the Service.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request deletion of your account and all associated data, and export your website content at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or use the relevant options in your account settings. We will respond to data requests within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and website data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information and site content within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records. Anonymized, aggregated usage data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely to help us improve the Service.

8. Children's Privacy

Artefact is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 is using our Service, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice within the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

10. Contact
