2. Description of Service
Artefact is an AI-powered website builder that lets you create, customize, and publish websites through natural conversation. You describe what you want, and our AI generates a complete website including layout, copy, and imagery. We also host and serve your published sites on your behalf.
3. User Accounts
To use Artefact, you must create an account with a valid email address. We require email verification to activate your account. Each person may maintain only one account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
4. User Content
You retain full ownership of the content you provide to Artefact, including text, images, and any other materials you upload or input. By using the Service, you grant Artefact a limited license to host, display, and serve your content solely for the purpose of operating your website. We will not sell, share, or use your content for any purpose other than delivering the Service to you.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Artefact to create websites that contain or promote illegal content, distribute spam or unsolicited communications, host or distribute malware or malicious code, infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, or engage in any activity that violates applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.
6. AI-Generated Content
Artefact uses artificial intelligence to generate website content on your behalf, including text, layout suggestions, and image selections. While we strive for quality and accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before publishing your website. Artefact does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.
7. Pricing & Billing
Artefact offers Free, Core, and Pro plans. Details of each plan, including features and pricing, are available on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed on a recurring cycle (monthly or annual, depending on your selection). You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
8. Intellectual Property
Artefact and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Artefact and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You own the websites you create and the content within them. However, the underlying platform, templates, AI models, and technology remain the property of Artefact.
9. Limitation of Liability
Artefact is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artefact shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms of Service. You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your data before deletion, but published websites will be taken offline.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you via email or a prominent notice within the Service. Your continued use of Artefact after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
