How to edit your website with AI
Your Artefact site is always editable. Just describe what you want changed and the AI makes it happen — no dragging, clicking, or coding required.
Available on all plans. Edit limits vary by plan.
Step-by-step

Open your site in the dashboard
Log in at artefact.bz/login and select your site from the dashboard. Click 'Edit site' to open the builder.

Type your edit in the chat box
Use the chat input at the bottom of the screen to describe the change you want. Be specific: 'Change the hero headline to say Free same-day appointments available' works much better than 'make it better'.

Review the change in the preview
Your site updates in real time on the right-hand side. Review how the change looks on desktop and mobile using the toggle at the top of the preview.

Accept or revert
If you're happy, click 'Accept' to keep the change. If not, click 'Revert' to go back to the previous version. You can also just type a follow-up edit — 'make that headline shorter' or 'use a different colour'.

Publish your changes
Once you're happy, click 'Publish' in the top right. Your live site updates immediately — no waiting, no build process.
Tips & best practices
- ▸Be specific about what you want: 'Change the services section to show three services: Cuts, Colour, and Blowout — each with a short description' is much more effective than 'update services'.
- ▸You can ask for structural changes: 'Remove the testimonials section', 'Add a FAQ section', 'Move the contact section above the footer'.
- ▸Colour changes work well with brand names or hex codes: 'Change the primary colour to #1a365d' or 'use Tiffany blue as the accent'.
- ▸If a change isn't quite right, keep editing. Each iteration gets closer. You don't lose previous versions — every change is reversible.
Common questions
Is there a limit on how many edits I can make?

The free plan includes a limited number of AI edits per month. Core and Pro plans include significantly more. Check your plan limits in dashboard settings.
Can I undo a change?

Yes. Every edit is reversible. If you haven't published yet, click 'Revert' to undo. If you've already published and want to go back, contact support and we can restore a previous version.
Can I manually edit text without AI?

Currently, all editing goes through the AI chat. This ensures your site stays structurally consistent. Type the exact text you want — 'Change the opening sentence of the About section to read: ...' — and the AI will apply it exactly.
Why did the AI change something I didn't ask it to?

Sometimes the AI makes minor adjustments to maintain visual coherence — for example, if you change a headline, it might slightly adjust the subheadline for consistency. These are always minor. If you want a change reverted, just ask.
